GREEN with ENVY and ENVIOUS for GREEN!

(Above & Below: Chrysophrase "Dewdrop" Necklace by Gypsy Vie. Available through Gypsy Vie's Etsy Shop).

I look forward to it now, every year, for the past couple of years.....GREEN accessories!  Jewelry, purses, scarves, etc!  Light green, dark green, mint green, you name it.....I want it!  It seems as though you just can't go wrong, with any shade, these days!  This time of year though, and on into Summer particularly, I'm EXTREMELY fond of the mint / seafoam green shade.  The above pictured necklace, available through Gypsy Vie's store on Etsy, comes in both sterling silver and gold filled chain.  This piece is so versatile.  It literally becomes a staple piece of mine, every year, during these seasons!  It can stand alone as a beautiful accessory focal point or mix splendidly with others.  Either way, you won't be disappointed.

I've included a few other images of this go-to-season-color for your viewing pleasure and inspiration!  ENJOY!

Morning coffee with a little inspiration and HOT PINK LIPS on the side....

So yesterday I posted a couple pics, on Instagram, of my latest cosmetic obsession....yes, OBSESSION!  Maybelline's Color Whisper Lipstick.  Ladies, do yourselves the favor and stop the next time you're passing the cosmetic aisle at your local Target or drug store, soooo worth it!  It's like a thicker chap stick with a fine, velvet, finish. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!  I bought it in two colors, "Bare to be Bold" & "Faint for Fuchsia".  A real natural tone and then of course a loud pink.  Something I've been wanting to try for some time now.  I can't wait to wear "Faint for Fuchsia", during Summer, when I go back to a "blonder" look!

Unfortunately today's weather hasn't mirrored that of a Summer day, quite the opposite, actually.  BBBUUUTTTT, like I said....OBSESSED!  So, there was only one obvious course of action to take....you guessed it.....slap that hot pink lipstick on and get on with my day!  So that's what I did!  After getting ready for the day and armed with my new lipstick, I had a late morning cup of coffee accompanied by a little reading.  Picked up this book, Stanley Marcus's, Minding the Store, a Memoir, at the YWCA reDesign Shop that opened not long ago on Camp Bowie in Fort Worth, TX.  What better inspiration, to start my day and work on MY shop (Gypsy Vie), than the Neiman-Marcus story.  Such class and service.  My goal is to provide the same!

Etsy....it has begun!

Okay, so I said I was going to stay committed to blogging in 2013, right? Well, I certainly couldn't slack the very next day after making such a statement. So......here it is.

Today's post won't be very long.  It's more of a pictorial!  I've spent a good portion of the day photographing, uploading and listing merchandise on Etsy and FB.  If you follow me on FB you've probably already seen these today, if not, I hope you like what you see.  Items will be available through my Etsy shop.  Contemplating opening up the shop, this coming Monday, along with a girlfriend of mine who is opening up hers.  Wouldn't that be great?  I think so!  She's been such a great support system through this entire experience.  Thanks Kerr!  If nothing else, we can share in toasting ourselves and each other, for our Grand Opening!

Check out some of my vintage jewelry pieces that will be available through my Etsy shop,
Gypsy Vie.

Etsy Procrastination and Packaging

Well the time is nearing.  My constant jibber-jabber, for those of you that know me, of creating an Etsy shop is approaching!  I'd like to think, and well I certainly do say, that it's soooooo time consuming.  Upload this, describe that, tag this, etc., etc., etc.  I've realized this is not my strong suit.   I love the creative aspect, when it comes to my Gypsy Vie (GV) Designs, and forget about it....no one has to twist my arm to hunt for vintage resale - um, I'm so there!  But back to the "business" side of things, is it really all that difficult?  I'm going to say no.  I think my real aversion, to opening my Etsy shop and being more committed to this blog, is the thought of my customers and followers not liking the product.  I can't assume everyone will have my same taste, but that's what makes it all, us all, interesting!

It's a new year and a new attitude!  I WILL NOT prolong this venture anymore just because I'm afraid I won't get a "Like" or  a picture won't get repinned on Pinterest.  I'm doing this for me....because I LOVE it!  This shop, blog and FB page are going to be a GREAT learning experience.  I'm excited about what I'm going to learn about myself and my followers.  My friend Kerri, shared with me today, a piece of advice she was recently given about opening her own Etsy shop, "Just open it.  Even if you only list one item."  She was later told, "It's cool to see the evolution of a shop.  It doesn't need to be perfect."  I think they're right.  To be honest, I'm kind of excited to see Gypsy Vie's evolution, with the likes of all this social media.

I can't always promise that you'll like what I've found or created; but, I promise to be committee to this venture and always strive for a positive experience!  Thanks for stopping by today.  Check out my photos below.  Throwing around some packaging ideas for Etsy.  These envelopes could work great with some of my more delicate designs.  What do you all think?

Farewell to Fall

With the first day of Winter approaching, I've began looking back through my Fall Lookbook, of photos taken not necessarily posted (shame on me) that captured my take on Autumn attire.  I like to think of the looks as Fall's Sugar & Spice (maybe a look that's a little sweet or something a little more spicey...)!

Below features a look I'd categorize as sweet.  It was such a perfect Fall outfit this year living in North Texas.  It was lightweight, casual, and oh so cute!  Of course there's some kind of denim incorporated, along with a scarf and chunky jewelry.  For those of you that know me, this is nothing unusual; and for those of you whom I'm looking forward to getting to know through Gypsy Vie, this will come to be expected.

(Black skinny leggings - 7 for all mankind, striped tank top - aerie, denim button-up - Mossimo at Target, scarf - Target, m.u.d.d. moccasins - Kohl's, leather belt - vintage)

Until next time, please stay tuned as more post are to follow, highlighting, Gypsy Vie's jewelry line and all her "gypsy" market finds!
